the premis of that show was wack.
i would have loved to hear them pitch it:
OK
guy1: we have 2 hot chicks living with a hot guy in an apt... but they're all swinging singles..
exec1: hawt
exec2: totally
guy1: but.. wait.. the apt manager won't let these swingers live together, so the hot guy pretends to be gay.
exec1: wow funny
exec2: and hawt
+
PERMALINK
the pitch went more like this:
guy: hey doods, we have this really hawt uk tv show where this guy lives with 2 chicks and pretends that he's is gay because the landlord wont let 2 women share with a man and not be married.
exec1: no, that wont work.
guy: fuck yeah it will! sheeeet dood the brits have got 39 episodes out of this and 2 spin offs. One about the guy in the house share running a restaurant called 'Robin's nest' and one about the landlord and his bossy wife called 'George & Mildred'.
exec2: Jeez, they are so english and quaint names.
exec1: shut up and do more coke...
exec2: [sniff] yeah man!
guy: what dya say? Am I cool or what?
exec1: yeah, fuck it. If it doesnt work out, I'll just have you killed buried in the desert.
guy: [to himself] these fuggin crappy brit shows better translate over. crappy limey gits.

this kid i used to work with made a CD compilation of television theme songs and we rocked out to it at work.
but the young ones is a way better show. alexei sayle would be a much funny landlord than don knots, which is saying alot because don knots would be a rad landlord.
