Indo-Thai Tempeh that I made up

1LB of tempeh(indonesian fermented soy product)
5-10 fresh curry leaves
2-? green chillies (to taste)
handful of roasted peanuts
1 teaspoon of cumin
1 white onion
1 Zuchinni
1 clove garlic
dash of paprika
dash of sugar

1. finely chop curry leaves, chillies, and grind peanuts, press garlic. Set in small bowl with a drizzlin of olive oil.

2. slice tempeh 1/4" thick, put on medium heat in olive oil

3. slice zuchinni and onion, put in skillet with tempeh once tempeh has been browned on both sides.

4. after a few minutes of sauteeing this mixture, turn the heat up a notch and toss in the spice mixture you made earlier. add a little more olive oil.
toss it around on high heat until the edges of the zuchinni or tempeh look ready to burn.

serve hot with thai style coffee or tea for a wonderful meal.

at the right market, you can get these ingredients and make this whole meal(2-3 people) for about $5.
also, if available, "Taste of Thai" makes a "spicy peanut bake" in a pouch which can cut the cooking time in half.

I would also like to add that the low budget eater with sophisticated taste's best friend is an Asian, Latin, Middle Eastern or Indian market. 500g of kick ass curry paste for $1? hell yes.
fresh spices for an absolute fraction of what they would cost anywhere else, plus tons of great fresh vegetables and fruits to try.
I have also discovered tons of great produce from just cooking the simple recipe found on the sticker stuck on it.
