crème brulée is the shit. crème caramel is very good too (the "burnt" taste is stronger).

i live in a part of town where there are tons of pastry shops and italian caterers...... desserts ahoy!  

now i'm gonna think about profiteroles the whole day long.....

never tried this crème brulée though. what's it like?  

its creamy with the burnt sugar top.

the filling is just heavy cream and eggs. let it cool
then you take sugar and sprinkle the top.
now the fun part. take a torch and scortch/burn/cook the sugar till its candy like.

so you have a crunch of the carmalized sugar, then the soft sweet coolness of the 'creme'  

uuuuh la la!

otoh, my mrs. made a rhubarb pie yesterday that rocks! neither of us had ever had rhubarb pie before but damn it is tasty.

and we got some vanilla ice cream for it too - the total package is scrumdiddlyumptious.
